FC Barcelona: Offer for former Salzburg player!

Karim Adeyemi could make a spectacular career move this summer.

According to Barca expert Gerard Moreno and "Mundo Deportivo", FC Barcelona is reportedly working on signing the former Red Bull Salzburg attacker.

Accordingly, the Catalans are said to have already approached Borussia Dortmund with an offer.

Adeyemi himself is reportedly pushing for a move to "Blaugrana", viewing it as the only alternative to staying in the Ruhr region.

Arrived from Salzburg in 2022

The reigning Spanish champions are still looking for attacking reinforcements in the current transfer window. The signing of Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon as well as the departure of star striker Robert Lewandowski has been finalized.

While Barca has reportedly decided against a permanent signing of England star Marcus Rashford, Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez is still likely to be the absolute top target for the attack.

For Borussia Dortmund, the current summer transfer window would likely be the last chance to secure a transfer fee for Adeyemi. The contract of the Munich native expires in summer 2027. Four years ago, the Westfalians paid 30 million Euros in transfer fees to FC Red Bull Salzburg.

Frequent Substitute in Dortmund

The 24-year-old German has been considered a candidate for departure at BVB for quite some time.

Off the pitch, the eleven-time DFB international has recently made negative headlines on several occasions.

For instance, Adeyemi was convicted last November for illegal possession of a weapon.

Under head coach Niko Kovac, Adeyemi had to settle for a substitute role more and more often last season. Nevertheless, in 39 games across all competitions, he scored ten goals and provided six assists.
