Former Real Madrid Coach Takes Over as Premier League Manager
After his departure from Real Madrid, the Spaniard returns to the island as a coach.
Alvaro Arbeloa is the new head coach of Premier League club Fulham FC. The 43-year-old signs a contract until 2029 with the club that finished 11th in the past season.
"It is a great honour for me to begin this new chapter at Fulham FC, London's oldest club," says Arbeloa.
Had to Make Way for Mourinho
"I am very much looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere at Craven Cottage together with the Fulham fans and starting pre-season with the players next week. I am sure that we will embark on an incredible journey together."
The former full-back had previously played on the island. He featured for Liverpool FC and West Ham United. At Fulham, he succeeds coach Marco Silva, who moved to Benfica.
Arbeloa was on the sidelines at Real Madrid for the last six months, but finished the season without a title and eventually had to make way for Jose Mourinho.
