Just days after a new record sale, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is now close to a record purchase.

Belgian prodigy Nathan De Cat (17) is moving from RSC Anderlecht to Sinsheim, as announced by the Bundesliga club.

The transfer fee is reportedly 17 million euros plus potential bonuses – only Adam Hlozek (18 million euros) was more expensive in the club's history.

In Kraichgau, the 1.92m-tall central midfielder signs a "long-term contract," which, according to "Sky," is set to run until 2031.

Linked with numerous top clubs

Just a few weeks ago, De Cat was linked with several major clubs such as ManCity, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern.

"We are extremely pleased that an internationally sought-after player like Nathan De Cat has consciously decided to move to TSG. This is an outstanding confirmation of the path we have taken," said Sporting Director Andreas Schicker.

The TSG sporting director added: "Nathan is one of the biggest talents in European football in his position. We firmly believe in his potential and want to give him the trust and the necessary time to show his strengths at Bundesliga level and to continuously develop."

Convinced by Austrian trio

According to De Cat, the decision in favor of Hoffenheim apparently had several reasons:

"TSG showed a very early and sustained interest in me. The discussions with the officials, including Andreas Schicker, Paul Pajduch, and coach Chris Ilzer, absolutely convinced me. TSG Hoffenheim offers me optimal opportunities to prove myself in a top-5 European league and contribute to the club's sporting success," said De Cat.

"Furthermore, participation in the Europa League gives me the chance to gain valuable international experience. TSG Hoffenheim has already provided numerous proofs of offering young players the best platform to become better players," he added.
