Will Schalke's promoted squad gain DFB experience?

As "Sky Sport Deutschland" and "Bild" report, officials in Gelsenkirchen are said to be working on a transfer for Robin Gosens (32).

The left-footed player, who can operate as a full-back and wing-back, still has a contract with his current club AC Fiorentina until 2028.

Transfer fee not an issue, salary likely is

According to "Bild", the transfer fee for the 32-year-old should not be an issue, as Fiorentina would be satisfied with around one million euros.

The hurdle is greater when it comes to his salary. Furthermore, the 24-cap DFB player and his family are reportedly very comfortable in Italy.

A Schalke Fan Since Childhood

However, it shouldn't actually fail due to the player's will. As Gosens explained to "Sport1" about four years ago, he has been a Schalke fan since childhood: "Schalke was always my club. If I ever end up there, it would bring things full circle."

In any case, there is a need for a left wing-back in Miron Muslic's squad: With Vitalie Becker (21), only one player can fill the role. The loan of Moussa Ndiaye, a regular starter in the second half of the season, expired in the summer.
