Germany's Best Young Player 2023
For the German U21 striker, signs point to a departure after an unsatisfactory season.
The 21-year-old only played 1,150 minutes across 34 games last season, scoring just two goals. In the DFB U21 team, Weiper has six goals in 19 appearances.
The 21-year-old right-footed player stands 1.92 meters tall and was awarded the Fritz Walter Gold Medal as Germany's best young player in 2023.
His contract in Mainz runs until summer 2029, and both a loan and a sale are being considered. However, his market value is estimated at 7 million Euros.
Parensen denies offer for Stankovic
However, there are no signs of captain Jon Gorenc Stankovic leaving.
The Slovenian was linked by media in his home country with a move to Turkey, with a first-division club reportedly even submitting an offer.
However, sporting director Michael Parensen denies the rumor: "Nothing to it. We have not received an offer."
