Eintracht: Hütter and Co. likely make drastic decision
Before the start of the Bundesliga season, one or two personnel matters are still causing concern in Frankfurt.
Adi Hütter and Eintracht Frankfurt are facing a tough personnel decision.
Eleven days before the start of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season, the squad planning for the "Eagles" is not yet complete.
Recently, the Vorarlberg native (56) criticized his team's excessively large squad, while the Austrian coach also demanded new signings in several positions.
Now, a new issue seems to have emerged - specifically in the goalkeeper position.
Ex-Lienhart teammate as a solution?
According to "Kicker" and "Absolut Fussball", the Hessians are said to have definitively lost faith in Kauã Santos, who was planned as the number one goalkeeper, and want to sign a new goalkeeper.
In the 0-7 debacle in the recent test match against FC Brentford, the Brazilian (23) once again did not look good on several goals conceded. Already last season, Santos temporarily lost his starting spot to Michael Zetterer (31) due to blunders.
Eintracht Frankfurt reportedly wants to get rid of Santos this current transfer summer. Noah Atobolu (24) from SC Freiburg is considered a possible solution; he has not yet found a new club after his intended departure from Breisgau.
However, a potential deal is said to be in a "very early stage."
