Ex-Monaco Coach Takes Over Scotland's National Team
The 39-year-old succeeds Steve Clarke and is tasked with leading the team to the home Euro 2028.
The Scottish national team has a new coach!
Sebastien Pocognoli will henceforth take charge on the sidelines for the country. He signs a two-year contract. Steve Clarke was previously in the role.
The 39-year-old Belgian previously coached AS Monaco, where he took over Adi Hütter's position in 2025. However, the former professional, who played for clubs including Hannover 96, was only active in France for about half a year.
As a player, he featured for clubs including the German club, Brighton and Union Saint-Gilloise. Now he is to prepare Scotland for the upcoming home Euro 2028.
At the World Cup in the summer, Scotland missed out on advancing in the tournament after finishing third in Group C.
