Worked with Salzburg: PAOK Fans Aim to Block BVB Deal
For the third consecutive time, the Greek fans are protesting against the departure of their favourite. They had already been successful in similar situations involving Salzburg and Stuttgart.
Giannis Konstantelias of PAOK Saloniki was a hot topic at FC Red Bull Salzburg during the 2024 summer transfer window. The Salzburg-based club had agreed terms with the Greek, but PAOK, however, scuppered the deal at the last minute.
Fierce protests from supporters against the sale also played a role. A year later, the player had agreed terms with Stuttgart, but the fans protested again – and the deal fell through once more just before completion.
Supporters Protest for the Third Time
This summer, the story repeats itself. As "kicker" reports, the 23-year-old is on the verge of a move to Borussia Dortmund.
As reported by "Ruhr Nachrichten", fans showed him a video in which angry supporters confronted him. The young Greek had to explain his imminent transfer.
On Sunday, supporters of the club symbolically occupied the offices. The action is expected to continue on Monday.
However, this time, the prospects are reportedly bleak. According to "kicker", the Greek was already in Dortmund, and the deal is all but done.
