31-year-old Formula 1 record broken at Silverstone
The race at the historic home of the "premier class" became a crowd-puller.
564,000 fans flocked to Silverstone over the past weekend for Formula 1, which hosted the British Grand Prix. A never-before-reached mark in the history of the "premier class".
The old record was held by the 1995 season finale. At that time, Adelaide welcomed a total of 520,000 spectators to the Australian Grand Prix.
For comparison: One week before Silverstone, Spielberg welcomed 320,000 visitors.
