Goals Galore! WAC secure friendly draw against Ukrainian club
The Lavanttal side engaged in a high-scoring clash and remain unbeaten in pre-season.
Six goals were scored in the friendly match between WAC and FK Kharkiv in Maria Alm, with both teams drawing 3-3 in the end.
Less than 24 hours after the Ukrainians lost a friendly match against Red Bull Salzburg 0-4, they took the lead in the fifth minute through Baptistella.
Castillo made it 2-0 in the 20th minute, then the Lavanttal side began a comeback: Moments after conceding the second goal, Sulzer reduced the deficit to 1-2 (21st minute), and Vrioni equalized from the penalty spot before halftime (35th minute).
WAC equalize again
In the second half, Kharkiv took the lead once more, with Zabergja scoring to make it 3-2 (66th minute). Karamoko scored in the 83rd minute to provide the final goal in this high-scoring encounter. Shortly before the end of the match, Kharkiv's Salyuk was shown a second yellow card, resulting in a red card (90th minute).
WAC thus remain unbeaten in their fifth pre-season friendly. Silberberger's squad is currently at a training camp in Maria Alm, where another friendly match against FC Hradec Kralove is scheduled for Monday (5:30 PM).
