Over 10 Million Euros! WAC in a Windfall in 2026
The Carinthians can look forward to double-digit millions in transfer revenue this year.
Wolfsberger AC has been known for generating millions through clever transfers not just this year.
With the sales of Mohamed Bamba (5 million Euros), Shon Weissman (4 million), or Augustine Boakye (3 million), the Carinthians have already enjoyed several windfalls in the past.
And this year, the Lavanttal club is once again generating a significant transfer surplus.
Nwaiwu and Ballo as Top Departures
Already in January, defender Chibuike Nwaiwu moved to Trabzonspor in Turkey for 5.5 million Euros. According to the "Kronen Zeitung", the first installment was only transferred under threat of sanctions. However, with bonus payments, the transfer fee could rise to up to eight million Euros.
In recent weeks, there have also been reports that Premier League club Fulham FC offered over 20 million Euros for the Nigerian – WAC could, in turn, get a share thanks to a sell-on clause. Currently, the Wolfsbergers are at least assured of the 5.5 million Euros.
According to the "Krone", three million Euros will be paid for the summer transfer of Thierno Ballo. The striker is on the verge of signing for AS Saint-Etienne in France.
Transfer Surplus from Zukic, Loan Fee for Kojzek
Dejan Zukic, who returned to Vojvodina Novi Sad in Serbia, brought in 2.5 million Euros. Two years ago, WAC acquired the attacking player from the same club for a reported 900,000 Euros.
Erik Kojzek also moved to Serbia. For his loan transfer (including a purchase option) to Partizan Belgrade, the Lavanttal club received a fee of 500,000 Euros.
Furthermore, the "Wolves" earned a share from the transfer of former WAC player Nikolas Veratschnig from Mainz to FC Red Bull Salzburg. The share: 350,000 Euros.
So, in 2026 alone, the Wolfsbergers have already collected a total of 11.85 million Euros.
