Former Real Coach signs two youngsters
Real Madrid sells two players to FC Fulham. Alvaro Arbeloa has been coaching there since summer.
New Fulham coach Alvaro Arbeloa brings two former proteges on board. Real Madrid is allowing two players, Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios, to move to England. Both sign a contract until 2031.
The 43-year-old Spaniard knows both players from his time in the youth academy and from last season's second half with the Los Blancos first team. Gonzalo Garcia, a young center-forward, arrives for a reported 40 million euros. Cesar Palacios apparently costs 10 million euros.
However, the English club 'only' owns 70 percent of the transfer rights. Real Madrid would earn a share from any future transfer.
Club World Cup as a stage
Gonzalo Garcia caught attention at the Club World Cup in the summer of 2025. Then still under coach Xabi Alonso, the forward scored four goals in six games. In LaLiga, the 22-year-old mostly came off the bench, scoring six times in 30 appearances.
Midfielder Palacios made seven brief appearances under Arbeloa. Both hope to take the next step at FC Fulham.
