Is Real Madrid preparing for the departure of another forward?

The "Royals" are bringing Carlos Espi (21) from UD Levante on board, as both clubs officially confirm. According to reports, Real are activating his release clause of 25 million euros. Espi is said to have signed a contract with the Madrid club until 2031.

Last season, the 1.94 m tall striker scored eleven times in 25 games for promoted side Levante.

Pre-empting a departure?

The Espi transfer should be understood as preparation for the departure of Gonzalo Garcia. The 22-year-old academy product is being linked with a move to FC Fulham, where former coach Alvaro Arbeloa works as head coach.

After Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, and Marc Cucurella, Espi is Real's fifth new signing this summer. Two more, Yan Diomande and Rodri, are on the horizon.
