Is Yan Diomande's move to Real Madrid not yet a done deal after all?

After transfer insider Fabrizio Romano had already reported the transfer as complete more than a week ago with his famous "Here we go," RB Leipzig is now curbing the euphoria. CEO Marcel Schäfer clarified in an interview with "Sky" that negotiations are not yet concluded.

Schäfer Contradicts Romano

"It's clear that some so-called transfer experts reported a few days ago that the deal was already done and dusted and gave the 'Here We Go'. That is simply not the case. We are not there yet," explained Schäfer.

Previously, German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg had already contradicted reports of an already finalized move. A veritable dispute between the two insiders Romano and Plettenberg had subsequently broken out on the 'X' platform.

Transfer Only a Matter of Time?

Diomande was recently absent from Leipzig's start of training in Saalfelden. The club officially attributed the attacking player's absence to an infection.

Despite Schäfer's statements, a move for the coveted youngster to Real Madrid is still considered very likely. Reportedly, negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, which is why an agreement could still take a few more days.
