UEFA Apparently Wants Boycott
This has now gone so far that the Slovenian apparently wants to persuade European teams to boycott the 2029 Club World Cup.
According to "TalkSport", Ceferin intends to speak with PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi about a boycott of the Club World Cup – should Infantino not resign – during the UEFA Super Cup in Salzburg (August 12).
Many Question Marks for 2029
Nasser Al-Khelaifi collaborated with the EFC and FIFA concerning the Club World Cup; this partner could be lost to the world governing body.
The Club World Cup was held for the first time in 2025 in a new format in the USA. For the 2029 tournament, there is neither a host nor funding. Furthermore, it is unclear whether Infantino's planned expansion from 32 to 48 teams can take place.
