Report: Dutch Top Club Reaches Agreement with Wurmbrand
SK Rapid could lose one of its biggest talents. Other clubs from abroad are also monitoring him.
SK Rapid faces the potential departure of Nikolaus Wurmbrand.
The 20-year-old winger has reportedly reached a personal agreement with Feyenoord Rotterdam regarding a transfer. This is according to the club-affiliated portal "FeyenoordTM".
Accordingly, the Austrian national team player is open to a move to the Dutch vice-champions. However, Rapid has not yet received an official offer, it is stated.
Potential Rival to the Premier League?
This is said to only happen once a "major departure" occurs at Feyenoord.
Anis Hadj Moussa currently occupies Wurmbrand's natural right-wing position at Feyenoord. However, the 24-year-old Algerian could soon move to the Premier League. Newcastle United is considered a potential suitor.
In addition to Feyenoord, RSC Anderlecht, Brentford FC, and Real Sociedad are also reportedly interested.
European Highlight
Wurmbrand is considered one of the biggest talents at the Hütteldorf-based club.
The quick-footed right-winger made the step up to the professional squad in September 2024. Shortly thereafter, the national team player had his breakthrough moment with a brace in the final Conference League group stage match against Copenhagen.
In the new season, Wurmbrand only made it into the starting eleven in the Conference League first leg against Santa Coloma. In the Bundesliga opener against SCR Altach, the attacker only featured briefly as a substitute.
Wurmbrand has so far played 76 competitive matches for SK Rapid, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists. His contract with the Green-Whites runs until summer 2028.
