Former Austria Wien Player! Salzburg apparently soon to have their number two
The search for a number two in the city of Mozart is likely to end soon. A man who knows the ADMIRAL Bundesliga is reportedly on his way.
Following Alexander Schlager's departure, FC Red Bull Salzburg promoted youngster Christian Zawieschitzky (19) to their new number one.
In the background, the club has since been looking for a new number two, and they now appear to be close. According to transfer insider Nicolo Schira, German Christian Früchtl (Lecce) is only one step away from a Salzburg transfer.
The next former Austria Wien player
The 26-year-old was most recently a reserve goalkeeper in Italy, having moved there two years ago from FK Austria Wien. The shot-stopper played two seasons for "the Violets," making 61 appearances in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga.
Now, a return of the former Bayern goalkeeper to Austria seems imminent. Früchtl has only one year left on his contract in Italy and a market value of one million euros.
After Abubakr Barry, Haris Tabakovic, Frans Krätzig, Justin Omoregie (FAK youth) and Nikola Sarcevic (FAK youth), he is the sixth current Salzburg player with a past at Austria Wien.
