Windfall of Millions? Gregoritsch Rival Close to Exit

Mert Kömür is apparently on the verge of the next step in his career.

As several media outlets report, Premier League promoted side Hull City is intensely pursuing the services of the 21-year-old attacking player.

The English club is said to have already submitted two offers of eight and nine million euros respectively to FC Augsburg – both, however, were rejected.

Augsburg Demands Up to 14 Million Euros

The Fuggerstadters are reportedly only willing to consider a sale for a transfer fee of 13 to 14 million euros. Additionally, bonuses and a sell-on clause are said to be part of a potential deal.

Kömür himself is said to be fundamentally open to a move to the island. For FC Augsburg, however, a departure would mean the loss of an important attacking option.

The German U21 international recently competed with, among others, Austrian national team striker Michael Gregoritsch for playing time and can be deployed both in attacking midfield and as a central striker.

Third Most Expensive Sale in Club History?

Should the transfer materialize under the demanded conditions, Kömür would become the third most expensive sale in the club's history.

Only Abdul Rahman Baba, who once left FCA for around 26 million euros, and Ermedin Demirovic (23 million euros) have so far brought in higher transfer fees for the Bundesliga club.

Kömür comes from FC Augsburg's own youth academy and finally made his breakthrough with the professionals last season. In 30 competitive matches, the 21-year-old registered six goal involvements.
