TSG Hoffenheim celebrates their third consecutive competitive victory with a 3-0 success against Bayer Leverkusen (to the match report >>>).

At the center of attention is Austrian international Alexander Prass, who first shines with his goal for 2-0, but then takes himself out of the game with an unnecessary action.

Because the 25-year-old takes off his jersey during his goal celebration and receives his second yellow card for it, he will miss Hoffenheim's away match against Werder Bremen next Saturday. However, coach Christian Ilzer takes the sending-off with humor after the final whistle on "DAZN".

Ilzer jokes about Prass's lapse

"He played a fantastic week, was drafted into the team on Sunday, and played an outstanding game in a position that is rather unfamiliar to him at TSG," Ilzer praises his protégé's recent performances.

Prass also played a "top game" in the Europa League against Lyon during the week. Against Leverkusen, the Austrian international also invested everything and sealed the deal with his goal.

Nevertheless, the Austrian coach cannot condone him tearing off his jersey afterwards: "Forgetting something like that out of emotion should not happen. But the victory outweighs it, and unfortunately, he will be missing against Werder."

At the same time, the 49-year-old notes the curious scene with composure: "Going without a jersey is for the beach. On the football pitch, you should score goals and think of a different celebration," jokes the Austrian.

Baumann also takes the scene with humor

However, the action will not be without consequences for Prass. "The team will handle the fine. That's clear," Ilzer announces.

TSG captain Oliver Baumann also takes the sending-off with a wink. It will certainly be "expensive for the team's coffers" for Prass.

Prass eligible to play in the cup

The success against Leverkusen clearly does Hoffenheim a lot of good. However, Ilzer's squad will not have much time to breathe.

Already on Wednesday, the away match against second-division side Holstein Kiel is on the schedule for the round of 32 of the DFB-Pokal. There, Prass is eligible to play despite his sending-off in the Bundesliga.

Next Saturday, the Sinsheimers will continue in the German Bundesliga against Werder Bremen. In this match, Ilzer will have to do without the Austrian player.
