Blockbuster Opener: German Bundesliga Releases Fixtures
The Bundesliga has released the fixtures for the upcoming season. The new season kicks off with a top match and a traditional clash.
The fixtures for the 2026/27 Bundesliga season are here!
The German top flight kicks off the new season on August 28th with the blockbuster clash between FC Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart. Additionally, Borussia Dortmund will face Hamburger SV on Saturday.
FC Augsburg, featuring Michael Gregoritsch, will face promoted side FC Schalke 04 (with Dejan Ljubicic) to kick off the season, while Elversberg hosts Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Ruhr Derby Returns in Winter
For the first time since Schalke's relegation in 2023, the derby against BVB returns. In the first half of the season, the Ruhr derby will take place on the twelfth matchday (December 4th - December 6th) in Gelsenkirchen, with the return leg scheduled for the 29th round in mid-April.
Schalke 04 will already face the reigning champions, Bayern Munich, in the second round. "Der Klassiker" against BVB is scheduled for the 8th and 25th matchdays.
