Bundesliga promoted side SV 07 Elversberg announced on Wednesday that they have prematurely extended the contract of goalkeeper Nicolas Kristof, which was set to run until summer 2027, until 2029.

The 26-year-old has been playing for Elversberg since 2021 and has made 165 appearances for the Bundesliga newcomer. The Austrian, born in Heidelberg, is still awaiting his debut for the national team.

Joy on Both Sides

Elversberg's sporting director Christian Weber commented on the extension: "We are very pleased that we were able to extend Nicolas' contract, thus retaining another cornerstone of our promotion-winning team. He has walked the path with us from the Regionalliga all the way to the 1. Bundesliga and has made a significant contribution to the fantastic development of SVE."

Kristof expressed his delight at the long-term contract: "I have felt incredibly comfortable in Elversberg since my first day. Together, we have experienced extraordinary development in recent years and have preserved the special team spirit that defines us. That makes me very proud and has forged a strong bond within the club. I look forward to giving my all for the club, the team, and our fans in the years to come."
