For two and a half years, Marco Rose worked as head coach for German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig before he had to leave the club in March 2025.

The 50-year-old is now working in the Premier League for AFC Bournemouth. However, his exit in Leipzig still preoccupies the former Salzburg coach.

"The last few months in Leipzig really affected me," Rose told "RTL/Sky Sport." He said he lost his ease back then. "And of course, you then also need full backing and support in your role at the club," Rose added.

Rose Defends Leipzig Coach Demichelis

He criticised the treatment of coaches at Cottaweg, also coming to the defence of current head coach Martin Demichelis. He felt "the thumbs were down" for the Argentinian, Rose said.

"And that is, of course, not a pleasant feeling, and if that then proves true, it's not nice for the people involved," the 50-year-old continued.

"There (in Leipzig, editor’s note), things are questioned far too early nowadays, even though you are often in a process, even though you have injured players here and there, and perhaps that little bit extra is missing here and there," Rose said.

Already in the summer, Demichelis' predecessor Ole Werner was surprisingly released. He had one of the best points-per-game averages in the club's history (1.95).
