Florian Wirtz had to be substituted due to injury after 65 minutes in Liverpool FC's 2-0 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion.

As "Reds" head coach Andoni Iraola announced after the match, the DFB star had slightly twisted his ankle. "It doesn't look like anything major, but we play every three days. So we have to see how he is," said the Spaniard.

Wirtz is consistently at the center of discussions at Liverpool. In recent weeks, however, he has impressed with strong performances and has thus come closer to his former top form.

Could Miss Matches Against Chelsea and Arsenal

Now, the 23-year-old is at risk of missing the key match against Arsenal FC next weekend, of all times.

He will almost certainly miss the League Cup round of 16 match against Chelsea FC on Wednesday.

"I've twisted my ankle now and then in recent weeks. I need to get that under control," Wirtz told "Sky".
