Despite Slump: Carrick Gets Another Chance at ManUnited
Following the 0-3 defeat against Bournemouth, Michael Carrick is increasingly under pressure at Manchester United. However, for now, the coach is allowed to continue.
Following the disastrous start to the season and the 0-3 home defeat against Bournemouth last weekend, Manchester United coach Michael Carrick was facing the sack.
However, the 45-year-old will provisionally stay in charge, as reported by the British "Daily Mail."
Nagelsmann a Candidate for Potential Succession
CEO Omar Berrada and Sporting Director Jason Wilcox deliberated over Carrick's future after Sunday's defeat.
Possible alternatives for the coaching bench have also already been considered. Former DFB national coach Julian Nagelsmann was reportedly a candidate.
New Chance for Carrick
For now, however, Carrick remains in charge. This gives the former United player another chance to turn things around. The next challenge awaits already on Saturday with Chelsea FC.
However, the Brit cannot afford many more missteps. Manchester United is winless in eight games and currently occupies only 16th place in the Premier League. This puts the team just barely above the relegation spots.
