FC Admira Wacker signs Lars de Wit.

The second-division club announced this on Tuesday. The central defender (20) joins from the U21 team of FC Volendam, who were relegated from the Eredivisie last season.

De Wit was able to "impress during a multi-day trial" and "is expected to bring additional defensive stability."

"We Saw a Need for Action"

Sports Director Ralf Muhr: "With Lars, we are getting a tall, left-footed central defender with appropriate potential. He also brings great passion for pure defending and certainly qualities in playing out from the back. These are our primary reasons for signing him for this position, and we also currently saw a need for action due to some injuries, and we are delighted to welcome Lars as another young potential player!"

The Südstadt club left the field as losers in the first two rounds of the new LigaZwa season, both against Rapid II (0:1) and SKU Amstetten (1:2).
