Is David Alaba Heading to the Desert After All?
The ÖFB captain could turn his back on Europe. The club of former Liverpool star Roberto Firmino is reportedly preparing an offer for the 34-year-old Viennese.
Since his contract expired at Real Madrid, David Alaba has been looking for a club.
The 34-year-old Viennese was recently linked with a move to Italy's Serie A (read more >>>), but clubs from the Arabian Peninsula are also reportedly closely monitoring the ÖFB captain's situation.
According to a report by the Portuguese sports newspaper "Récord", Qatari champions Al-Sadd SC are looking to make a move for David Alaba.
Is the First Offer Being Prepared?
After losing out to Real Sociedad in the race for veteran defender Nayef Aguerd, the ÖFB captain is now at the top of their wish list. The club is reportedly already preparing a first official offer.
Former world-class player Roberto Firmino is under contract with the Doha-based club. The long-serving Liverpool striker joined from Al-Ahli last summer.
Additionally, two players with a Bundesliga past, Paulo Otávio (LASK) and Mohamed Camara (FC Red Bull Salzburg), are active at Al-Sadd SC.
