The Austrian goalkeeper is on the verge of a move to NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie. WAC, meanwhile, is being handsomely compensated for the departure of its first-choice goalkeeper.
Champions League participation with new club?
According to "Krone", Nijmegen – who finished third in the Dutch top flight last season – is set to transfer around 1.5 million Euros to Lavanttal.
An offer from Hertha BSC was not even considered. The deal was already "done" before the Salzburg match, in which the 24-year-old delivered a superb performance.
With his designated new club, Polster still has a chance to participate in the UEFA Champions League. On Tuesday, the club from the province of Gelderland will face Olympiakos Piraeus in the second leg of the third qualifying round. The first leg ended 0-0.
