This is where the 2031 Nordic Ski World Championships will take place
The host of the 2031 World Championships has been decided. The outcome was clear.
Oberstdorf is the host of the 2031 Nordic Ski World Championships.
The municipality in Germany's Allgäu region prevailed against the Slovenian ski jumping mecca Planica with a 16:6 vote. This was announced by the FIS after a digital meeting of its Council.
"I would like to congratulate Oberstdorf on a remarkable bid," said FIS President Alexander Ospelt, praising Oberstdorf as "one of the most significant places in the world for Nordic skiing."
It was the first major official act for the Liechtensteiner, who had replaced controversial former boss Johan Eliasch as FIS President in June.
The 2027 World Championships will take place in Falun, Sweden.
