Severe Knee Injury for ÖSV Eagle
The Vorarlberger suffered a severe injury during training in Stams and will undergo surgery on Wednesday.
Niklas Bachlinger is expected to miss a large part of the upcoming ski jumping season.
The 24-year-old sustained an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee during training in Stams on Tuesday. Additionally, the ÖSV Eagle suffered injuries to his medial and lateral meniscus. The Vorarlberger will undergo surgery in Innsbruck as early as Wednesday.
The Junior World Champion in individual and team events particularly drew attention last year during the Summer Grand Prix, when he won the competitions in Courchevel and Wisla. Bachlinger finished third in the overall standings.
At the Four Hills Tournament, Bachlinger was allowed to compete as a national jumper in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen, but failed to reach the second round in either event.
