The world number one advances to the quarterfinals after a three-set victory against Mochizuki and will now face a German.

Even though Sinner won the match in three sets, he squandered an unusually high number of opportunities for his standards to turn the match in his favor. Out of a total of twelve break points, he could only convert four.

Struff benefits from opponent's retirement
