KTM has filled both factory spots for the 2027 MotoGP season.

Alongside Alex Marquez, Fabio di Giannantonio will pilot the second KTM RC16. The 27-year-old Italian joins the Mattighofen outfit from VR46-Ducati and, like his new teammate, signs a multi-year contract.

This means there is no longer a place for Brad Binder after six years in the factory team, but the South African could remain with KTM as a member of the Tech3 satellite team.

Race wins in all three classes

Di Giannantonio boasts race wins in all three classes of the Motorcycle World Championship and has been competing in MotoGP since 2022. After two years with the Gresini team, where he celebrated his first MotoGP success in Qatar in 2023, the Roman moved to VR46 in 2024.

There, the 27-year-old continuously improved, already triumphed in Barcelona this year and, as the current third in the World Championship, is in the fight for the title. He is only 16 points behind World Championship leader Jorge Martin.

Motorsport Director Pit Beirer says: "Fabio has clearly taken a step towards becoming a fixture among the top riders in MotoGP. His speed and commitment to always delivering top performance are beyond question."

"He is a strong team player and a great guy who we know will seamlessly integrate into our Red Bull KTM Factory Racing project. In our discussions, we were impressed by the passion with which he gives his best on and off the track, and we are confident that the next chapter together will be exciting and unforgettable."
