Dominant Fastest Lap: Hamilton Fastest in Silverstone Practice
The Silverstone record winner sets a dominant fastest lap in the sole free practice session for the Grand Prix in Silverstone.
Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time in the sole practice session in Silverstone.
The Ferrari driver posted the quickest time of 1:29:260 min, relegating Andrea Kimi Antonelli (+0.213) and teammate Charles Leclerc (+0.599) to second and third place.
George Russell (+0.678) finished fourth, with Oscar Piastri (+0.887) taking fifth place. Max Verstappen (+0.980) in sixth is already almost a second behind, but had to abandon his final attempt after two strong sector times.
World Champion Norris Already Over a Second Behind
Lando Norris (+1.028) and Isack Hadjar (+1.078) in seventh and eighth place are already over a second behind, with Nico Hülkenberg (+1.483) and Liam Lawson (+1.590) completing the top ten.
Besides the two Cadillacs and Aston Martins, Pierre Gasly also fell far behind: The Alpine driver had to settle for 21st place (+3.759). Teammate Franco Colapinto finished eleventh with a deficit of 1.706 seconds.
There will be no further practice sessions for the teams during the Grand Prix weekend - Sprint Qualifying is already scheduled for 5:30 PM. Saturday will feature the Sprint (from 1:00 PM in the LIVE-Ticker >>>) as well as Qualifying (from 5:00 PM in the LIVE-Ticker >>>) for the race.
