Will Cape Verde's World Cup hero join Lionel Messi?
The goalkeeper is currently a free agent. He might be moving to the USA after strong performances.
Vozinha is one of the breakout stars of the 2026 World Cup.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper for World Cup debutants Cape Verde impressed with outstanding performances, keeping two clean sheets – including against Spain – and thus played a major role in the island nation reaching the Round of 16.
Cape Verde's run ended against defending champions Argentina, featuring Lionel Messi. Ironically, it is alongside the superstar that Vozinha's career could potentially continue in the future.
Move to Inter Miami?
As reported by "Marca", the goalkeeper is said to be on the verge of a move to Inter Miami in the MLS. His contract with Portuguese second-division club Chaves had recently expired, making Vozinha available on a free transfer.
Vozinha made most appearances in his career for AEL Limassol. The goalkeeper stood between the posts 135 times for the Cypriot club. He also played 51 matches for GD Chaves and 39 games for AS Trenčín.
With a move to Inter Miami, he would play outside of Europe for the first time in his professional career.
