Two days ago, Zlatko Dalic stepped down as Croatia's head coach, and his successor is believed to have already been found.
According to information from Italian journalist Lorenzo Lepore, Slaven Bilic is considered the favourite for the national team coach position.
President Marijan Kustic has reportedly already contacted the 57-year-old, with final negotiations expected to take place next week.
Bilic is said to be open to a return to the Croatian Football Federation – the former Premier League coach previously served as Croatia's head coach between 2006 and 2012, his era ending after their group stage exit at EURO 2012.
Afterwards, Bilic worked in Russia, Turkey, England, China, and Saudi Arabia. Since 2024, the Split native has been unattached.
