Bitter! Sturm Graz to miss star player for league start
The player of last season will miss the opener in Innsbruck. He was most recently in the squad but didn't play.
Sturm's star player Otar Kiteishvili is nursing an injury at the start of the season. In the first leg against Heart of Midlothian in Graz, he managed at least one half. Most recently, he remained on the bench for the full ninety minutes twice.
For the league opener, the 30-year-old will not feature against WSG Tirol in Innsbruck. "Otar will definitely be out. With him, we are currently re-evaluating day by day what his progress is like and when we can use him again," explained head coach Fabio Ingolitsch at the press conference before Saturday's match (from 5:00 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>).
After WSG, Fenerbahce awaits
The start of the season has been successful even without last season's player. So far, the vice-champions have secured three victories.
After the WSG match, the next Champions League qualifying hurdle awaits next Wednesday with Fenerbahce (from 8:00 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>).
Whether the Georgian will be fit again then remains to be seen.
