Klagenfurt President Kaltenegger: "We Must Dominate"
For Kaltenegger, narrow victories are not enough; he demands dominance. In parallel, house searches at his company in Liechtenstein are causing a stir.
Helmut Kaltenegger has been the new President of Austria Klagenfurt since Friday.
The investor, who saved Austria Klagenfurt from collapse with his investments, is pursuing ambitious goals with the club.
"We want to dominate the Regional League, first back into the 2. Liga, then into the 1. Bundesliga. I have invested a lot of money and want to achieve these goals," he told the "Kleine Zeitung".
Despite the first success in the ÖFB-Cup in Velden, Kaltenegger is not entirely satisfied: "We won, that was good, but still not enough. I spoke plainly: We must dominate. And if we don't do that in autumn, we will strengthen the squad in winter."
Suspected Fraud at Kaltenegger's Company
At the same time, there have recently been critical headlines surrounding Kaltenegger. According to a report by "News", there is a suspicion of fraud at his Liechtenstein gold company TGI.
The Liechtenstein public prosecutor's office therefore carried out house searches. The suspicion of commercial serious fraud and money laundering is currently under investigation.
In the course of the ongoing investigations, all customers are now to receive their invested money back. "I've had enough. We're paying out all customers now," said Kaltenegger. The TGI restart will then take place with its headquarters in Mauritius.
