A possible departure of Nikolas Polster has been a topic at Wolfsberger AC for months.

Already at the end of last season, the WAC first-choice goalkeeper made it unequivocally clear that he wanted to take the next step in his career.

This could now materialize with a move to Hertha BSC. The German second-division club could sign the 24-year-old as their new number one goalkeeper.

"I spoke on the phone with the president"

However, the transfer will not go through too quickly, as WAC coach Thomas Silberberger confirms.

"I spoke on the phone with the president. He assured me that everything is in order. So Nik Polster will play, he will go into the season as number one," Silberberger is quoted by "Krone".

Transfer can happen

Thus, Polster will likely be between the posts for WAC on the first matchday of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga. This will be contested on Sunday against Wiener Austria (from 5:00 PM in the LIVE ticker).

"What happens after that remains to be seen," says Silberberger, who does not rule out a transfer in the coming weeks. "The transfer window is still open until the beginning of September."
