Schopp after Salzburg defeat: "Bitter, but with good aspects"

It truly wasn't much that was missing for another Hartberg surprise in Salzburg.

However, in the end, the East Styrians had to accept a bitter defeat in TSV's successful coach Markus Schopp's comeback (to the match report >>>).

Nevertheless, Hartberg managed to impress again for long stretches with their well-known virtues.

Because, above all, the disciplined compactness and solidarity in defense almost made Salzburg despair until the final whistle.

In addition, Hartberg also impressed with fast counter-attacks, especially before halftime. Ultimately, however, their energy visibly dwindled in the final phase.

"It's bitter, of course, but there were a lot of good things in it," Markus Schopp stated on "Sky" after his first Bundesliga match in his third tenure as Hartberg coach.

"We will grow from such situations," the 52-year-old added.

Gattermayer: "A good basis for a successful season"

The foundation for Hartberg, however, should be laid. However, their chance conversion still needs to improve to significantly trouble the top contenders for a place in the championship group this season as well.

"It is a good basis for a successful season," emphasized TSV player Angelo Gattermayer.
