Confirmed! Former Salzburg Player Kristensen Leaves Eintracht Frankfurt
The Hessian club grants the right-back's transfer request. The Dane returns to his homeland.
Rasmus Kristensen is leaving - as expected - German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.
As the "Eagles" announced on Tuesday, the 28-year-old Dane is returning to his homeland.
There, he joins FC Midtjylland, who are making Kristensen their new record transfer.
According to media reports, Eintracht will receive around six million Euros from Midtjylland – exactly the sum that Frankfurt had transferred to Leeds United in the summer of 2024.
"Reluctant to let him go"
"Rasmus approached us with the wish to return to his homeland. He is not only a very good footballer but also a family man for whom proximity to his relatives is very important," said Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche.
"Even though we were reluctant to let him go, we didn't want to stand in his way and agreed to the transfer after reaching an agreement with FC Midtjylland. We thank Rasmus for his commitment and wish him all the best for his private and sporting future," the 45-year-old continued.
71 Competitive Matches for Frankfurt
During his time with the Hessian club, Kristensen was mostly a regular starter and featured in 71 competitive matches. He scored nine goals and provided four assists.
Now, the former Salzburg player returns to his youth club, which he left in 2018 to join Ajax Amsterdam. A year later, he made the move to the city of Mozart.
