After Tunisia Stint: Renard New Ivory Coast Coach
The Frenchman coached the Tunisian national team for 18 days at the World Cup; now, things are expected to go better with Ivory Coast.
Ivory Coast has appointed Herve Renard as their new head football coach.
The Ivorian FA announced this on Tuesday. The Frenchman succeeds Emerse Fae, whose contract was not renewed after the World Cup in North America (more here >>>).
Renard was previously national coach of the Ivorians, Angola, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Zambia, as well as for two matches with Tunisia at this World Cup.
However, the coaching change did not have the desired effect during his 18-day tenure. A clear 0-4 defeat against Japan was followed by a 1-3 loss in the final group match against the Netherlands. Without a single point and with a goal difference of 1:12, the World Cup adventure ended prematurely.

The coach won the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast in 2015.
