Replacement for ex-Salzburg boss: Ole Werner snubs mega-offer
The German had to leave RB Leipzig in the summer, and has now rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia.
Ole Werner led RB Leipzig back to the UEFA Champions League after a season without international competition. However, he was not allowed to keep his job, with the club effectively sending him packing.
Now, according to "Bild", the 38-year-old has received a lucrative offer from there. He is reportedly set to succeed ex-Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle at Al Ahli, with Jaissle close to signing for Newcastle United.
Werner snubs massive pay rise
According to the tabloid, the reigning Asian Champions League winner received a rejection, despite a mega-salary offer.
Werner would reportedly have earned a similar amount to his predecessor Jaissle, whose annual salary in Saudi Arabia is estimated at eleven million euros. At RB Leipzig, his basic salary is only 3.7 million euros annually, and his contract there runs for another year.
