Schicker pulls off contract coup with Hoffenheim key player
The old contract still had almost four years to run, now there's already a new deal.
TSG Hoffenheim, with Styrian sporting director Andreas Schicker, is making headlines with a contract extension.
Wouter Burger (25) has extended his contract, which was set to expire in 2030, long-term. No precise details on the new length have been provided.
"The extension is an impressive signal of continuity and a sign of our increased attractiveness for ambitious players," Schicker enthused.
Signing was a Bargain
Burger was one of the key players last season; the Dutchman scored five goals and provided nine assists in 32 games.
Hoffenheim only signed him in 2025 for four million euros. Meanwhile, the midfielder has a market value of 20 million euros.
