Since January 2026, Yusuf Demir has been playing for SK Rapid again, having previously played for Galatasaray for three and a half years.

He recently reported on a questionable medical treatment in Turkey on the Rapid podcast "Vereinhören".

The team doctor wanted to give him an injection for a swollen ankle. "Of course, I refused that because I don't know what's in the syringe," Demir stated.

The Austrian further added: "There were many medical problems there that truly shocked me. What happened in there, very few people want to see."

Demir Accused of Fear

His open criticism of his former club is not going down well in Turkey. Club-affiliated journalist Ali Naci Kücük complained on "Dici Futbol": "What he experienced at Galatasaray, he also experienced at Barcelona. His level of fear is high, he doesn't trust himself. The refused injections were also administered to Burak Yılmaz, Drogba, Icardi, or Osimhen."

The ÖFB player simply didn't dare. "Yusuf Demir repeatedly invented excuses to avoid his duty," the Gala insider concluded his criticism.

The 23-year-old is under contract with Rapid until the end of the season. Now, he aims for a major breakthrough.
