Former Salzburg defender linked with Premier League move
After his departure from the "Bulls", the Frenchman developed into a regular starter in Serie A. Now a move to the island awaits.
Defender Oumar Solet (26) is being linked with a move from Udinese Calcio to Leeds United.
Italian journalist Francesco Guerrieri and "Messaggero Veneto" report on the Premier League club's interest. A transfer fee of 25 million euros is being touted. Solet's market value is 23 million euros.
Contract terminated in Salzburg
The French centre-back signed with Udinese in Serie A in autumn 2024, after his contract with FC Red Bull Salzburg was terminated by mutual consent.
Solet reportedly drew attention for disciplinary issues during his time at Salzburg. In summer 2024, a move to TSG Hoffenheim fell through due to a failed medical, after which Solet was moved to the training squad of cooperation partner FC Liefering. This subsequently led to the contract termination.
In Italy, Solet significantly increased his market value again. Last season, he was a regular starter for Udinese, making 35 Serie A appearances.
Leeds finished the past Premier League season in 14th place and already signed centre-back Jaka Bijol from Udinese last year.
