A thrilling top match in Serie A ends without a winner, as AS Roma and Inter Milan draw 2-2 on Matchday 7. The Romans thus retain their league lead, and it is the first point loss in the league for both teams.

The Romans got off to the better start, celebrating the lead in the sixth minute after a strong attacking move involving several players, finished by Manu Koné.

Even after the goal, AS Roma remained in control; only after almost half an hour did Inter come into the game, with Lautaro Martinez missing alone in front of goal, and Alessandro Bastoni also hitting the post.

In an exciting top clash, both teams looked for a way forward, but it was again the hosts who scored. Koné was once again in the right place at the far post; the goal was initially disallowed for an alleged offside, but the VAR corrected it, making it 2-0.

Inter's Strong Second Half

After the break, the Milanese got off to a flying start, with Martinez pulling one back (46th minute) after a one-two with Marcus Thuram. The visitors were now the stronger team, but without being able to capitalize on it initially.

It wasn't until the 79th minute that Martinez first headed against the crossbar, but just a few seconds later, he did better in the next action, controlling the ball with his thigh and then volleying it into the net.

After that, the "Nerazzurri" were closer to the winning goal, but the Romans at least managed to hold on for a point.

In the table, AS Roma remains directly ahead of Inter Milan with 13 points, who are tied on points behind them. Como and Lazio Rome could still draw level on points with the top duo with victories.
