Inter Legend Sandro Mazzola Dies Aged 83
The former star striker made 565 competitive appearances for Inter and also became European champion with the national team.
Former Italian star striker Sandro Mazzola has passed away at the age of 83, his former club Inter announced on Saturday.
Mazzola played his entire 17-year professional career for the Milan club in the sixties and seventies, scoring 158 goals. In total, he made 565 competitive appearances for the club.
During this time, Inter won Italy's championship title four times and two European Cup finals. With the national team, Mazzola became European champion in 1968, and two years later he reached the World Cup final with the Squadra Azzurra.
