Werder Bremen celebrates a furious comeback victory against FC Augsburg in the fourth round of the German Bundesliga. The Bremen side ultimately won 3-2, inflicting Augsburg's first defeat of the season.

Good Start

The visitors from Augsburg, for whom Michael Gregoritsch was on the pitch until the 53rd minute, started the match better and took the lead through Robin Fellhauer (18').

Subsequently, Bremen was actually the more active team, yet the Baum-eleven managed to extend their lead. Calvin Brackelmann scored with a header from a corner (58').

Grüll brings Bremen back

But Werder didn't give up and pulled one back through Marco Grüll. The Austrian international scored to make it 1-2 (66'). For Grüll, it's already his second goal in his fourth game.

Compatriot Marco Friedl once again played the full ninety minutes as captain in central defense.

Shortly before the end, returning player Niclas Füllkrug scored Bremen's equalizer (86').

In added time, Grüll once again had a decisive involvement. The 28-year-old international laid the ball back to Mitchell Weiser, who, in his second game after his comeback, brought the Weserstadion to its feet with a dream goal (90'+3).

Point for Eintracht

Adi Hütter's Eintracht Frankfurt played out a draw against FC Freiburg. For the Breisgau side, this also marks their first dropped points of the young season. The match ended 2-2.

Younes Ebnoutalib (10') and Jonathan Burkardt (36') each put Eintracht in the lead. Derry Scherhant (34') and Yuito Suzuki (48') were able to equalize on each occasion.

Meanwhile, Mainz 05 and HSV celebrated victories. While the Mainz team, with Stefan Posch and Phillipp Mwene playing the full match, won 4-3 at Borussia Mönchengladbach, Hamburger SV defeated 1. FC Köln 2-1.
