Andreas Schicker Comments on Frankfurt Rumors
The Austrian is being linked with Adi Hütter's club and addresses the speculation.
Andreas Schicker has been Sporting Director at TSG Hoffenheim since October 2024. Last season, together with head coach Christian Ilzer, he guided the club into the UEFA Europa League.
Recently, there were rumors that Eintracht Frankfurt would like to persuade the Austrian to make a move. Markus Krösche has left the Hessen club, and Adi Hütter, a compatriot of Schicker's, is also at the helm there.
Schicker Wants to Stay at Hoffenheim
Before TSG's EL match against Lyon (3-0, Match Report >>>), Schicker was asked by "RTL" about a possible move to Frankfurt.
"I can say that there's nothing to it," he clearly denied the rumors. He pledged his commitment to Hoffenheim: "I really enjoy my work here."
After qualifying for the European Cup last year, things aren't running quite as smoothly for Hoffenheim; in the league, they are 14th with six points from six games. In the UEFA Europa League, they did manage to secure their first three points against Lyon on matchday three.
