At Genoa, an Austrian trio consisting of David Puczka, Elias Havel, and Franz Stolz is in the squad. The former recently celebrated his starting XI debut against Roma (0-2 defeat) in Serie A, which is to be seen as a clear sign that coach Daniele De Rossi relies on young players. Puczka is 21 years old.

For this approach, there is now praise from the new Technical Director Francois Modesto. "There are young players – Puczka came from Juventus and Wiafe from Modena – but the praise belongs to the coach, because he had the courage to deploy young players against Roma, a great team. That's a good sign. Congratulations to the coach," he said, remaining positive despite the defeat.

Genoa is only 17th with four points from seven games, yet the new boss backs the coach.

"I found a positive atmosphere – that applies to both the coach and the team. Genoa is an incredible club; I found peace there, as well as people who know what it means to wear this jersey. Some challenges lie ahead for us, but the mood is very positive," says the Technical Director.
