Report: Hütter's Eintracht interested in Andreas Schicker
Following Markus Krösche's departure, the search for a successor is underway at the Hessen club. The club is also reportedly considering an Austrian.
Will Andreas Schicker change clubs within the German Bundesliga?
At least according to "Bild", Hoffenheim's sporting director could soon join Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Hessen club is currently looking for a successor for Markus Krösche, and besides an ex-international, they have now reportedly also targeted the Austrian for the position of sporting director.
Especially President and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Mathias Beck and CEO Axel Hellmann are reportedly convinced by Schicker's work in Hoffenheim and consider him an exciting candidate. However, there has reportedly not yet been an exchange between the Frankfurt club and the 40-year-old.
A transfer fee would be due
At TSG Hoffenheim, Schicker works with Christian Ilzer. In Frankfurt, he would also meet a fellow countryman: Adi Hütter has been head coach at the "Eagles" again since this summer.
One problem could be that Schicker would cost a transfer fee. However, that would also be the case for Christoph Spycher, the sporting director from Bern, who is also considered a promising candidate.
Furthermore, it is questionable whether Schicker can even imagine a move to Frankfurt. Only in May, the former Sturm Graz boss had extended his contract in Sinsheim long-term.
